Data released by the Emergency Operation Center (COE), in the weekly report, indicate that in the first three months of 2024, the state of Acre showed a reduction in serious cases of dengue.

The survey takes into account the first 12 epidemiological weeks of the year, and reveals that in 2024 the state registered only three serious cases of the disease, presenting a reduction of 80%, compared to the same period, in 2023, when 15 serious cases were registered. of dengue.

The state also did not record any deaths from the disease, both in the 1st quarter of 2023 and in the 1st of 2024. Acre goes against the general balance of the North region, which this year saw an increase in the number of serious cases of the disease, recording 193 , compared to 186, the previous year. Regarding the number of deaths, the region saw a reduction, from 11 last year to six in 2024.

Another important data highlighted in the Bulletin was the incidence of dengue, which in the first three months of 2024 reached 758.1 for every 100 thousand inhabitants compared to 261.5 last year.

Across the country, 20,844 serious cases of dengue were recorded in the first three months of 2024, with an incidence rate of 1,143 cases for every 100,000 inhabitants and a total of 831 confirmed deaths.
