A man died on Saturday night (30) during a bar fight, in Esmeraldas, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. The confusion happened during the classic in the final of the Campeonato Mineiro.

According to the Military Police, the victim, Eduardo Lopes dos Santos, aged 59, had a disagreement with another client, aged 38. Security camera footage shows the older man being hit by a punch. He passes out on the floor and a snack stove that was on the counter falls on top of him. Next, the younger man punches Eduardo again.

To the Military Police, the suspect said that he was harassed by the victim during the Atlético and Cruzeiro match, a game that was broadcast in the bar. Both were drinking at the time of the fight.

The attacker himself called the police. The victim was taken to a nearby health unit, but he did not survive his injuries. For the Military Police, a witness said that Santos was a regular at the bar and had a habit of greeting people with punches.

The suspect was taken to the Police Station.
