Around 300 agents have been patrolling federal roads in RJ since October 16th.

National Force stays in Rio until Easter Sunday

In total, 300 men and women from nine states were transferred to Rio de Janeiro with the aim of working on the highways that cross the state, under the leadership of the Federal Highway Police, with the aim of preventing the entry of weapons and drugs.

For the work, the federal government spent more than R$3.5 million only with new equipment: Carbines, shotguns, rifles, grenades, pistols and lots of ammunition. The payment of agents’ daily wages cost the Federal Government’s coffers more than R$3.6 million.

7 trucks searched in 1 month

According to the management of the National Force, the agents operating in Rio de Janeiro did more than 10 thousand approaches to vehicles and pedestrians in the first month of work. However, only 7 trucks were stopped and searched during this period.

In more than a month, agents did not seize weapons or drugs during the operation in the state. The survey, carried out based on the Access to Information Law (LAI), shows two arrests and a minor arrested for attempted robbery.

During that month, two other people were arrested for bodily harm and failure to pay child support.

If the lack of incidents with positive results were not enough, two National Force agents ended up involved in a situation that was, to say the least, embarrassing for the corporation.

National Force agents were robbed in Rio

National Force agents entered by mistake and had their weapons stolen in Complexo do Chapadão, in Guadalupe, in the North Zone of Rio. The weapons were recovered by PMs from the 41st BPM (Irajá), but the situation shed light on the actions of police officers who did not They know well the particularities of crime in Rio.

The two stolen agents belong to the Alagoas and Acre police and are on loan to the Force. They were in an unmarked vehicle and, following directions from a navigation app, entered Rua Fernando Lobo when they were approached by drug traffickers.

The police officers identified themselves, and the bandits released them after stealing two 9mm caliber pistols.

According to the agents’ report, they were refueling the vehicle at a gas station on Via Dutra. Upon leaving the post, they tried to return to their service base, in Campo dos Afonsos, in the West Zone, but the application traced a route that passed through the entrance to the community.

The Ministry of Justice informed that the management and planning of the National Force’s actions are the responsibility of the PRF. According to the ministry, the heavy rains in the region also affected the points of operation, and there are six inspection points: five on BR-040 and one on Via Dutra.

In turn, the PRF said that vehicles patrol in patrols and that there is no National Force base in Arco Metropolitano.
