Next opponent Santos in Series B, Guarani fired coach Claudinei this Saturday afternoon (27). Bugre’s new coach should be announced in the next few days before the clash at Vila Belmiro.

After taking over Guarani with five rounds remaining in Paulistão and saving the team from relegation in the state, the coach was fired with just two rounds of Series B. The Campinas team comes from two defeats in the national competition, to Vila Nova 2-0 away from home and 1-0 to Chapecoense at Brinco de Ouro da Princesa.

Claudinei led Guarani in seven games, won just one victory, three draws and suffered three defeats. Along with him, assistant coach Lucas Zanella also left the club.

This season, Santos and Guarani have already faced each other once at Vila Belmiro for Paulistão, where Peixe ended up winning 2-0 with two goals from Guilherme. At the time, Bugre’s coach was Umberto Louzer.

Santos and Guarani face each other on May 6th, at 8pm. The confrontation will be without the presence of an audience, due to a punishment from the STJD suffered by Peixe.
