Businessman Bruno Ross, 37, took seriously his mission to live in nature for a few hours and even found a giant spider during a weekend of camping and hiking in Mestre Álvaro, in Serra. The video he took in the early hours of last Sunday (24) inside the tent shows when the animal appears outside, passing through the fabric. He even brought the flashlight closer, showing the size of the arachnid. The scene looks scary, but the man from Espírito Santo highlighted that he was not injured by the animal and said he was not afraid.

“Around 3:30 in the morning I got up to enjoy the view from the top of Mestre Álvaro, above the clouds. I opened the tent and sat there, took some videos and took some photos. About 20 minutes later I went to get my portable charger, when The light from the flashlight hit the tent canvas and the shadow of the spider appeared,” he said.

Bruno told the reporter that the arachnid appears to be an armored spider, approximately 20 centimeters long. According to researchers from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, the armored spider is not that common to be found and has a painful bite. The venom of this species can cause serious effects, such as local swelling and high blood pressure. The businessman removed the spider from the tent without any major problems. “I recorded it with my cell phone, put on my boots and left the tent. I picked her up with a piece of stick and released her into the forest. I wasn’t afraid, on the contrary, I like contact with nature”, he explained.

It took five and a half hours of trail to reach the top of Mestre Álvaro, according to him. The place is very popular with those who want to go for a walk or a longer trail, or even see and enjoy the waterfall.
