Traffic restrictions on highways in Mato Grosso

To improve safety on federal highways, the traffic of some cargo vehicles will be restricted on single-lane highways. Security Guidelines

The PRF also highlights the immense importance of adopting preventive measures by drivers. Such care, related to the conservation of vehicles and the correct functioning of safety items, is essential for preventing accidents and preserving one’s own life and the lives of other users. Among the main items to be observed for a safe trip, the following stand out:

  • Plan your trip well, analyzing stopping points, traffic and road conditions, and the weather forecast;
  • Check the pressure of all tires and pay attention to the weight that the car will have to carry (including luggage and passengers);
  • Check the spare tire and, if there is any damage, replace it for use, if necessary;
  • Align and balance the vehicle;
  • Make sure the vehicle is equipped with the mandatory items: spare tire, wishbone, tire iron and jack must be inside the trunk;
  • Check the operation of the vehicle’s lighting system;
  • Keep the radiator water at the appropriate level and make sure the cooling system fluid is up to date;
  • Inspect the vehicle’s damping and braking systems;
  • Check the expiration date of the engine oil and filter, as well as the windshield wipers;
  • Keep documentation up to date, including vehicle licensing and IPVA.
  • In case of rain, speed must be reduced, headlights must remain on and the safety distance between vehicles must increase.
