Sebrae Prefeitura Empreendedora Award receives more than 60 entries in TO

The 12th edition highlights the importance of public managers in the socioeconomic development of municipalities

Sebrae Tocantins holds the 12th edition of the Sebrae Prefeitura Empreendedora Award (PSPE) and attracts 62 entries across the State for the first time. Since 2001, the PSPE has highlighted the importance of public managers engaged in local socioeconomic development, through projects that promote entrepreneurship, boost the competitiveness of small businesses and modernize municipal public management.

The award, in Tocantins, encompasses the following categories: entrepreneurial city, entrepreneurship at school, rural entrepreneurship, territorial governance, productive inclusion, entrepreneur’s room, simplification and promotion of entrepreneurship, sustainability and environment, tourism and territorial identity.

Sebrae analyst Monique Menezes explains that each winner will be an inspiring management model for the other city halls in the State. “The Sebrae Prefeitura Empreendedora Award also acts as a valuable repository of good municipal management practices, which can and should be replicated elsewhere”, concludes.

Next steps

The national stage of the awards starts from April 21st, when the first placed in each state category will be evaluated by the national commission. The final ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 11, in Brasília (DF). In 2024, there were around 2,500 registrations from 1,748 city halls across all states in the country.
