The School of Improvement of the Unified Health System (Eapsus) page has a new look. The website was redesigned to facilitate user access to the courses offered by the institution, in addition to ensuring transparency in the process of internship vacancies and in-service training. More than 45 thousand students are already registered on the school’s Distance Learning (EaD) platform, which foresees an increase in the number after the changes implemented.

Topics such as smoking, auriculotherapy, prevention and attention to violence in the Federal District and training in ocular tissue donation processes, among others, are part of the EaD course catalog available on the page, which is updated frequently, in order to improve health professionals and education, as well as other people interested in the content. In-person courses offer the opportunity to learn in practice, in a safe and supervised environment, with employees from the area to be studied.

For the director of Eapsus, Fernanda Monteiro, the changes to the website “provide greater transparency to citizens”. With more than 80 free courses on the platform, some users stopped signing up due to the requirement to create a login with a password to access the available courses. “Today, people can access the website, access the list of courses and see which one they most identify with, and only then create an account and register”, explains Fernanda.

Another positive point is in relation to face-to-face courses, which are now included on the page, with location, days and workload – which was not the case previously. Eapsus follows the entire course formulation process, from the pedagogical part to the delivery of certificates. “It is important to know which health regions offer face-to-face training, mainly to multiply these ideas and have an exchange of experiences between professionals”, says the manager.

Affiliated with 27 higher education institutions, Eapsus is also responsible for managing internship vacancies offered to students on undergraduate and technical education courses within the Department of Health (SES-DF). Last year, more than 19 thousand students were placed in the secretariat fields, totaling 75 thousand internships in public hospitals and health units.

In-Service Training

Inspired by the model of the University of São Paulo (USP), the space dedicated to in-service training also underwent changes on the Eapsus page. Now, professionals looking for an opportunity to improve in specific areas can find it more easily. With vacancies for 14 categories, in-service training is for trained professionals, registered with the appropriate class council and with personal accident insurance.

On the page, when searching for their category, the professional finds, in addition to the location of the vacancy, the reference sector in the health unit, the months and days of the week available for training, the activities that will be carried out during the period and the workload , which is limited to 180 hours. Training time can be added to the resume as experience, with certification issued by Eapsus.

The school director says that in-service training “is an opportunity to qualify after training, and even change the sphere of activity”. Fernanda explains that “it is different from an internship, because the training is for people who already have a professional life, so it can be considered a career highlight, especially in cases of removal”.

The activities carried out during in-service training are not remunerated, but are supervised by professionals with the same training and equivalent hierarchical level. Vacancies can also be filled by people from other states who wish to gain experience in the DF public network.

Other news

In addition to the spaces reserved for information about courses, in-service training and other important topics, two new features were added to the page: contact with continuing education centers (Neps) and technical visits.

The Neps are responsible for continuing education actions in health regions, in addition to the development of employees. That’s why it’s so important to know where they are located and their opening hours. It is also necessary to pay attention to specific legislation when requesting technical visits to hospitals and other health units. Now, the website has all this information.

The page may still undergo other changes, but Fernanda believes that the new features, including the layout, “communicate better and reduce user doubts”.
