The board of directors of the Companhia Bahiana de Pesquisa Mineral (CBPM) received representatives from the German company Siemex, with the aim of attracting the implementation of a solar panel factory in Bahia – the first in the country. The prospecting actions are determined by governor Jerônimo Rodrigues, to move towards the reindustrialization of the state. At the meeting, details of the project were discussed to be presented to the president of BNDES, Aloísio Mercadante, so that a financing line can be created, in order to guarantee that this industry is installed in the state.
CBPM will be a partner in the venture, providing mineral assets, such as high-purity silica and other associated elements. As with other projects, this will be developed through cross-government actions, the result of a partnership with the Secretariat for Economic Development (SDE) and Sedur-BA (Secretariat for Urban Development). Once the negotiations made by CBPM have been completed, Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues is expected to soon announce the installation of two industrial plants in Camaçari, associated with photovoltaic panels.
