Rio – The Civil Police arrested, this Wednesday (27), the owner of a scrapyard identified as José Edson Ferreira Ramos for killing a service provider over a debt of R$50. He must answer for qualified homicide . The case happened in May last year, in the Figueira neighborhood, in Nova Iguaçu, Baixada Fluminense.
According to investigations, the victim, Yan Guilhermino De Jesus, had provided a service for the owner of the scrapyard and the crime was committed as a result of an argument between the two. The boy demanded payment of R$50 for work performed over three days, which was not paid by the perpetrator.
On that occasion, the victim was hit on Rua Major Sá Freire and died instantly. Edson arrived at the scene in the passenger seat of an app vehicle, got out of the car and shot Yan. Then he fled.
Although José Edson denied being responsible for the murder, two witnesses recognized him as having been the author of the shooting. The case was being investigated at the Baixada Fluminense Homicide Police Station (DHBF).
The report was unable to contact the accused’s defense. The space is open for demonstrations.
