The Government of Pernambuco, through the Secretariat of Mobility and Infrastructure (Semobi), Department of Transit of Pernambuco (Detran), Department of Highways (DER) and Empresa Pernambucana de Transportes Intermunicipais (Epti) set up a special operation to guarantee the safety of drivers and passengers on the weekend.

The joint action plan will include teams on duty on the banks of BR-232, 200 traffic agents and technicians distributed in inspection and educational work. Extra intercity trips are also planned from the Prefeito Antônio Farias Bus Terminal (TIP) to the most popular municipalities during the weekend.

For the Secretary of Mobility and Infrastructure, Diogo Bezerra, the operation involving several bodies serves to ensure that this period of the month passes safely and without incidents for those using the roads during the holiday.

“This work is to ensure everyone’s safety and our agents, technicians and employees will be providing this support through actions not only of inspection, but mainly of education,” he said.

DMV

To reinforce security during the Holy Week period, the Detran of Pernambuco prepared a preventive and educational program with operations in the main event hub cities.

Among them, a vehicle rescue service with support for drivers who have mechanical problems.

Thinking about the safety of drivers, a support base was set up at the intersection of BR-104 (Caruaru) and PE-145, with two teams of agents constantly patrolling the road along the stretch from PE-145 to the Nova Jerusalem Theater.

From then on, from 3pm to 10pm, a tow truck will be available this Thursday (28th), Friday (29th) and Saturday (30th) offering support to drivers who have mechanical difficulties in their vehicles.

To ensure fluid circulation of vehicles, the Inspection Department also defined mobility and accident prevention support points, located on the banks of BR-232, in the following locations: Recife (Curado), Moreno, Pombos, Gravatá, Bezerros, Caruaru, Brejo da Madre de Deus, São Caetano, Pesqueira, Belo Jardim and Sanharó.

The operation runs until this Sunday (31) involving 200 agents and 250 vehicle and motorcycle launches.

Educational and public service activities also continue this Friday (29) and Saturday (30), in the theater city of Nova Jerusalem, in Brejo da Madre de Deus.

The action brings together the relaxation of Turma do Fom-Fom, artists who teach traffic, providing safety tips on the roads. In addition, the Inspection teams also participate with measures to support the prevention of accidents.

Those arriving in New Jerusalem will find a truck equipped with games and recreational options for children, alluding to traffic situations. Outdoors, adults can use glasses that simulate drunkenness, an instrument that helps raise awareness about the risks of drinking alcohol and driving vehicles.

For the public traveling to New Jerusalem, Detran-PE also offers the “Detran Por Aqui”, a vehicle with equipment infrastructure and personnel capable of mobile services.

At the point it is possible to open processes, monitor protocols, check Driver’s License scores, make appointments, in addition to obtaining information and answering questions about license and vehicle services.

DER

To provide even greater safety for drivers and pedestrians during the holiday, the Department of Highways will have several traffic operations throughout the state.

The focus of the work is to carry out fluidity actions, safe crossings and operations on PE-145 and PE-095, in Caruaru, Itaúna and Brejo da Madre de Deus. During this period, there will also be education and inspection work on PE-015, PE-017 and BR-232.

Intercity Travel

In the period from March 28th to April 1st, 25 thousand people are expected to pass through the TIP, considering arrivals and departures and passengers’ companions.

This estimate represents 45% more than in the same period last year, when 17,347 people were in the TIP.

The forecast is based on data from companies operating in the TIP, which is managed by Empresa Pernambucana de Transporte Coletivo Intermunicipal (EPTI) to the private company Socicam.

The 13 companies that operate in TIP will provide extra trips depending on weekend demand.

The most popular destinations within the state of Pernambuco (intercity trips) are: Caruaru, Vitória and Palmares.

For interstate travel (supervised by ANTT), the main destinations are: João Pessoa, Natal and Fortaleza.

The estimate for the Caruaru Bus Terminal is that 7 thousand people will travel this holiday.

This forecast represents an increase of 5% compared to the same period in 2023, when 6,737 people used the equipment.

Travel from the Capital of Agreste to Fazenda Nova is much more done by tourism charter, so this growth perspective is lower.

Service:

IImportant information for passengers:

It is recommended to purchase travel tickets in advance;

Check that the tickets are stamped with the boarding fee;

Arrive at the Bus Terminal at least 1 hour in advance;

Check the documentation for boarding, especially for children;

Check that all luggage is identified with name, telephone number and address;

Go to boarding 1 hour in advance to avoid crowds

Despite the existence of extra hours, this does not mean that if you buy a ticket last minute, there will be a brief vacancy.

Boarding of Minors

Transport is free for children up to six (06) years of age, as long as the minor is accompanied by their legal guardians and does not occupy a seat. Both for intercity and interstate travel.

When traveling by bus within the national territory, minors, up to 16 years of age, may only travel accompanied by their legal guardians (who have up to the 3rd degree of kinship with the child and which must be proven by original documentation).

Children may also be accompanied by an adult authorized by their father, mother or guardian.

However, you must have written authorization.

To travel alone, minors under 16 need an original judicial authorization issued by a Child and Youth Court office.

Teenagers over 16 years of age can travel without an escort, as long as they present an original identification document.

In cities in the same metropolitan region, authorization from the Children and Youth Court is not required.
