Until March 31, the military, highway and environmental police of Minas Gerais will carry out Megaoperation Semana Santa 2024. The action will take place in more than 200 points along approximately 30 thousand kilometers of state and federal highways, rural areas and resorts, as well as parks, lakes and rivers, 24 hours a day.
Launched this Wednesday morning (27), the Megaoperation will employ more than 2 thousand police officers, focusing on combating drug use and trafficking, preventing homicides, capturing fugitives from justice, monitoring drivers, in addition to actions with radars and drones and combating environmental crimes. In addition, preventive blitzes will be carried out, with the distribution of booklets with prevention tips to raise awareness among drivers about attitudes that help reduce accidents.
The actions count on the partnership of other bodies, such as the Department of Highways (DER), State Secretariat for Environment and Development. Sustainable (Semad), State Forestry Institute (IEF), National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT) and others.
