Public high school students born in March and April will receive this Wednesday (27th) the first installment of the Pé-de-Meia program, worth R$ 200. The incentive refers to enrollment and will be deposited by the 7th of April, according to the student’s month of birth.

Students who are enrolled in any high school grade in the public network and with consolidated information sent by the education networks by March 8th will benefit.

According to the Ministry of Education (MEC), the deposit will be made into digital accounts automatically opened by Caixa in the name of the beneficiaries.

If the eligible student is a minor, the legal guardian must authorize the student to operate the account. Consent can be made at a Caixa bank branch or via the Caixa Tem app.

Also according to the MEC, until June 14th, if any corrections and updates of information are made by education systems and federal secondary education institutions, payment of the incentive for enrollment may be made until July 1st, 2024 .

Incentives

In addition to the enrollment incentive, the program provides for three other financial-educational incentives:

attendance incentive, worth R$ 200 per month, paid in eight periodic installments: the student must have a minimum monthly attendance of 80% of the teaching hours or an average attendance of 80% of the teaching hours in the year, until the date of collection of the information through the education network;

completion incentive, worth R$1,000 per year, paid in a single installment into the student’s savings account: the student must complete the series in which they are enrolled with approval and, when applicable, with participation in the System exams of Basic Education Assessment (Saeb), as well as in exams applied by the external assessment systems of federative entities for secondary education;

incentive-Enem, worth R$ 200: for students in the 3rd year of high school who register and participate in the two days of application of the National High School Exam (Enem), including possible reapplication in exceptional situations.

The amounts relating to enrollment and attendance incentives can be used freely by students, as they are deposited in their bank accounts. The completion incentive can only be used by the student after completing all of secondary education. Considering the ten incentive installments, annual deposits and the additional R$200 for participating in Enem, the values can reach R$9,200 per student, over the three years of high school.
