Man dies after falling down stairs while on duty in Bahia

An internet technician died after falling from a ladder while working on a pole, on Tuesday (26), in Teixeira de Freitas, in the extreme south of Bahia. The body of the victim, identified as Douglas Aguilar, aged 27, will be buried this Wednesday (27).

There is no information about what caused the young man to fall, nor whether he was installing or maintaining the network. Douglas suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) to the back of his head, according to the region’s Fire Department.

TV Santa Cruz, a TV Bahia affiliate in the region, contacted the company where the young man worked, but did not receive a response until the publication of this report.

The case took place on Avenida General Salgado Viana, in the Mirante do Rio neighborhood, next to the 18th Military Fire Brigade (BBM).

Firefighters were called and provided first aid at the scene. After being immobilized on a board, the young man was taken to the Teixeira de Freitas Municipal Hospital (HMTF), but did not survive.

According to information from the region’s Fire Department, the victim suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) to the back of the head.
