Speaking at the Plenary Session this Wednesday (27), at the Legislative Assembly of Sergipe (Alese), deputy Marcelo Sobral (União Brasil), spoke about the status of the Foot and Mouth Disease Free Zone without Vaccination granted to the state, whose ordinance Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) was published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU).

“Last Monday, the state of Sergipe achieved the status of Foot-and-Mouth Free Zone without Vaccination. This is a very important achievement because the state has been out for a long time and has now achieved it, with the work of the Secretary of Agriculture Zeca da Silva, the president of Emdagro Gilson dos Anjos and governor Fábio Mitidieri, who have been sparing no effort to help the category of agriculture as a whole”, he highlights.

The parliamentarian reiterated that the seal is very important because it further strengthens rural producers and livestock farmers, freeing the herd from the disease. “With this, the small producer wins because they can negotiate their cattle with greater security, value the herd and further strengthen the agricultural sector in our state. I want to congratulate the secretary, the staff at Emdagro and especially the livestock farmers, small and medium-sized producers, as it is their merit, they need to raise awareness so that they can continue to advance against this disease. The winner is the state of Sergipe, which now has its cattle with the quality seal, being able to export throughout Brazil”, he adds.
