Pregnant with her second child, Leandra Leal, 41, showed off her 5-month-old belly. The actress, who is mother to Laura, 9 years old, recently announced her pregnancy in a post on her Instagram profile. Her father is filmmaker Guilherme Burgos, to whom the actress has been married since December last year.

Managed by Angela Leal, Leandra’s mother, the oldest private theater in Rio was founded in 1934 and named by playwright Oduvaldo Vianna. The house resisted the Estado Novo and the 1964 coup, going through economic crises, in addition to the pandemic, but never closed its doors.

From 1970 onwards, it came under the command of Américo Leal, Leandra’s grandfather, and hosted revue theater shows, political critical plays, as well as musicals, shows and comedy shows. The pantheon of great names that shone on stage includes Grande Otelo, Oscarito, Alda Garrido, Dercy Gonçalves, Rogéria, Jane di Castro, Cauby Peixoto, Alcione, Nana Caymmi and many others, consolidating the house as a democratic place and a reference for Rio’s avant-garde. In 1990, Angela Leal turned the theater into a true temple of Brazilian popular music.
