Public veterinary hospital opens with great demand in Salvador
On Monday, there were only emergency services, while this Tuesday, appointments were opened.

Initially, the information was that 40 forms would be distributed, on a first-come, first-served basis, for assistance. Emergency situations are not included in this count.
“This high demand was already expected, because Salvador has a huge pent-up demand from the entire state of Bahia. We will serve everyone, we will screen all the animals and those in emergencies will be passed on,” said aa municipal secretary of Sustainability and Resilience, Marcelle Moraes.
The first owners who managed to have their animals cared for this Tuesday morning arrived in line between 4am and 5am. Service began at 8amopening hours of the unit.
“I brought my dog because he has lumps on his body and is coughing. I got here around 4am,” said an owner who was at the scene.
According to the secretary, an animal was abandoned in the unit on this second day of care. The suspect of committing the crime has not yet been identified.
Also according to Marcelle Moraes, to prevent more cases like this from recurring at the location, security cameras will be installed and there will be a Municipal Guard post in the unit.
It was not announced when the measures will be implemented on site.
