The city of Ibirité, close to the Rola Moça mountain range, in the Central region of Minas Gerais, recorded the highest volume of rain in all of Brazil in the last 24 hours. According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), it rained 96.2 millimeters until 8 am this Tuesday (March 26).

The second city with the highest volume of rain was Chapadinha, in Maranhão. The municipality recorded 83.8 mm, according to Inmet. Bragança, in Pará, had the third highest volume, with 83.2 mm.

Rain warning

Minas Gerais is on alert due to the possibility of heavy rain until 10 am this Wednesday (March 27). According to Inmet, it may rain between 20 and 30 mm/h, with intense winds of 40 to 60 km/h. The storm poses risks of falling tree branches, flooding, electrical discharges and power cuts.
