Mato Grosso do Sul is the first state in Brazil to receive a technical visit from the FNDE (National Education Development Fund), aimed at meeting specific demands in the area, together with the State and municipalities.

At the opening of the work action this Monday (25), the governor, Eduardo Riedel, recognized the joint action of the State Government in all municipalities and also spoke about the management’s priorities.

“In Mato Grosso do Sul, a line of work and a priority was established since I took over the Government, we continued with a massive investment, sourced from our own resources, in the readjustment of all our 348 schools in the State Education Network. And it’s not a painting, it’s really putting it on another level of environment to receive education professionals and students, mainly”, said Riedel.

The work developed in education in the State was also recognized by the FNDE. “We actually learn from you (Mato Grosso do Sul), who are a reference in many educational policies”, said Anderson Wilson Sampaio Santos, director of Educational Actions at FNDE.

As part of the structuring actions for education, Mato Grosso do Sul makes investments in all municipalities in the State, with renovations and expansions of school buildings that improve the environment, in addition to guaranteeing quality meals for students and better remuneration for students. education professionals in the country.

With 25 thousand education employees – including administrative and teaching staff –, the State has 17 thousand teachers, permanent professionals receive the highest salary – in basic education – in Brazil for 40 hours of work per week, with more than R$ 11 thousand (R$ 11,935.46).

“Each of the municipalities knows what we are talking about. Last year there were more than R$300 million in investments and this year there will be more than R$250 million in own resources. This logic is on different fronts, first the physical structuring, and in parallel with this the advancement to the full-time education network, another great challenge”, stated Riedel.

Investments and quality of education

Mato Grosso do Sul has 349 school units, with 184 thousand students served. There are 210 schools that offer – in all municipalities in the State – full-time education (60.1% of REE schools) for 39 thousand students.

The State Education Network also works with 68 types of professional education courses. The offers were created with the aim of meeting demands according to the reality of each region. Currently the courses are present in 76 municipalities and serve more than 18 thousand enrolled students.
