A survey produced by the Industry Observatory of the Federation of Industries of the State of Ceará (FIEC) that assesses multidimensional aspects of the innovation process pointed out Pernambuco as the most innovative state in the Northeast.
Divided into the areas of capabilities and results, the survey placed Pernambuco in 10th place overall among the states of the federation, being 12th in capabilities and 8th in results.
According to FIEC, the objective of the index is to identify gaps and direct policies for the improvement and development of different aspects of the innovation ecosystem in Brazil.
“We are proud that, even during a period of economic and health crisis, it remains one of the most attractive states for innovative new businesses. This means that we were able to establish the foundations to create more development and opportunity in Pernambuco”, celebrated Governor Paulo Câmara.
In the survey, Pernambuco was also highlighted with 3rd place in global competitiveness and 8th place in human capital (postgraduate) and insertion of masters and doctors. According to the FIEC Index, a better positioning in results than in capabilities points to a greater use of the state’s potential and more effectiveness of innovation.
“This result reflects the efforts of the State Government, which in recent years has been making large investments in Science, Technology and Innovation, in all the Development Regions of the State”, celebrates the Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation, Fernando Jucá.
