An analysis by Reclame Aqui about Mother’s Day 2024 showed that 45% of the three thousand responding consumers will buy gifts for the date. The number is three times higher than the number seen in 2023 and represents the appeal of the date this year.
According to the study, the list of what should sell the most this year focuses on services or items for well-being, self-care, experiences and personalized items. Among the categories are:
- Beauty and perfumery products (19%);
- Clothing and footwear (20%);
- Accessories (16%)
- Experiences and flowers (massage, wine tasting, etc.) (13%).
With the understanding that consumers are more determined and demanding in 2024, the research also shows that 16% still do not know whether they will buy gifts. The motivation to do so, in fact, has a series of reasons beyond the price, including:
- Company reputation (29%);
- Product quality (20%);
- Previous experiences with the brand (17%).

Just like last Mother’s Day, there is not much growth in terms of expected shopping values. According to Reclame Aqui, the average ticket remains low, with 47% investing up to R$100 and 39% reserving between R$100 and R$300 for a gift.
In total, 25% intend to pay in installments via credit card, in addition to 29% paying in cash (Pix) or cash.
In the chosen purchasing modality, 27% must use e-commerce (e-commerces and marketplaces), while 35% prefer physical stores, in neighborhood stores.
The survey was administered between April 12th and 17th through the Reclame Aqui platform. In total, 3 thousand consumers responded.
