With 2,313 new cases of dengue this week, Comcam confirmed two more deaths of residents, one in Campo Mourao and another in Araruna, reaching four deaths from the disease this year. The other dead patients were also in Araruna and Luiziana. The victims are elderly people, as announced by the State Department of Health (Sesa).
According to the weekly dengue bulletin, Comcam accumulates 22,719 cases of the disease, of which 20,930 are indigenous, with infected residents in their municipality of origin. There are still 32,524 notifications and 26,559 probable cases of the disease in the region. The current epidemiological period began in July 2023.
Still according to the numbers, the 11th Campo Mourão Health Region is the 5th in the State, out of 22, with the highest number of dengue cases. It is only behind the Health Regions of Ponta Grossa (3rd RS), Pato Branco (7th RS), Francisco Beltrão (8th RS), and Cascavel (10th RS). Campo Mourão records the highest number of confirmations: 3,408. Then, Goioerê (2,706), Iretama (2,107) and Roncador (2,092).
The cases by city are: Altamira do Paraná (9), Araruna (1,905), Barbosa Ferraz (297), Boa Esperança (448), Campina da Lagoa (497), Campo Mourão (3,408), Corumbataí do Sul (44), Engenheiro Beltrão (238), Farol (99), Fênix (61), Goioerê (2,706), Iretama (2,107) and Janiópolis (894).
There are also cases of dengue: Juranda (1,135), Luiziana (1,951), Mamborê (416), Moreira Sales (541), Nova Cantu (341), Peabiru (1,364), Quarto Centenário (752), Quinta do Sol (1,117) , Rancho Alegre D’ Oeste (13), Roncador (2,092), Terra Boa (90), and Ubiratã (204).
The head of the 11th Campo Mourão Health Regional, Cristiane Michalski Gradella, commented that the Regional, through the State Government, has been providing support to municipalities in the fight against the disease. Cristiane warns that the fight against dengue also depends on the population, as most outbreaks are residential.
This week, Paraná confirmed another 42 deaths from dengue and 32,819 cases. In total, there are 213 deaths from the disease, 293,336 confirmed cases, in addition to 569,474 notifications and 108,596 cases under investigation.
Information about chikungunya and zika, also transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, is that 11 new cases of chikungunya were recorded, totaling 126 confirmations and 1,378 notifications of the disease in the State. Since the beginning of this period there have been no confirmed cases of Zika virus. 118 notifications were registered.
