“Even after he threw the scorpions, we continued with the care. We blocked him with anti-scorpion serum and the doctor (doctor on duty) asked him to remain under observation for six hours. He waited two hours there, medicated, and then escaped of the place,” he said.
After calling Health Surveillance, the nurse took the case to the police. According to her, the attack was partially thwarted because, since the Covid-19 pandemic, the Health Center’s reception staff have been protected by glass.
“He threw the scorpions through the nozzle on the glass, which prevented the employees from being hit directly, even in the face, as seemed to be his intention,” he said.
According to her, 56 seconds passed from the attacker’s arrival to the moment he threw the scorpions, indicating that there was no delay in providing assistance. “When the receptionist asked what he had, he said: ‘I have this’; and threw the scorpions that were in a small box. The town is small and everyone knows each other. I can’t understand why he did that,” he said.
The identity of the attacker, a resident of the rural area, was not released by the city hall or the police. The São Paulo Civil Police took statements from the three victims this Wednesday, the 3rd, and has already summoned the suspect to appear at the police station.
