‘Ozempic Head’: term went viral as a new side effect of the medicine after Maiara exposed weight loss :: Olhar Concept

The term “Ozempic head” went viral on social media this Tuesday (26), when internet users began to point out cases in which the head would become disproportionate to the rest of the body as a result of rapid weight loss. Mato Grosso singer Maiara, from the duo with Maraisa, was the target of criticism after revealing her weight loss of 30 kg.

“Maiara”, “Ozempic” and “Cabea de Ozempic” were among the most talked about topics on X, formerly Twitter. On Tik Tok, medicine is also one of the most searched for topics and thousands of users share their weight loss or use of an injectable pen, which can cost up to R$1,000.

Despite the singer claiming not to have used the medication, the public raised theories about the sudden weight loss. “Guys, but does Ozempic leave this disproportion between the body and the head? Why are most celebrities like this”, says a user. “We already need to popularize the expression Ozempic head,” said another.

Originally created to treat type 2 diabetes, the medication has been used for aesthetic purposes. Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, malaise, headache, difficulty eating, dehydration and gallstones are among the possible side effects of Ozempic.
