Little Pedro Aravena, son of the actress Mariana Derderián, died at the age of 6 after a fire, in the early hours of Thursday (9). Known for her work on “Floribella”, the artist managed to escape the family home, which caught fire, with her eldest daughter.

As reported by the Chilean press, the family home is located in Santiago, capital of Chile, in the Vitacura neighborhood. Mariana and Leticia, the eldest daughter, needed to be hospitalized. The child was medically discharged and the actress remains in stable condition.

Journalist Francisco Aravena, the actress’s ex-husband and father of the children, was warned by Mariana about the fire and arrived at the scene before the firefighters. When trying to enter the house to rescue the youngest child, he ended up suffering respiratory injuries and remains in an induced coma at the Clínica Alemã de Santiago.

So far, the cause of the fire has not been identified by the police. There are hypotheses that it was caused by the contact of a heat source with some flammable material, or that there was an overload in the house’s electrical network.
