The floods that have been plaguing the Rio Grande do Sul region since April 27th have brought together a true wave of solidarity around the victims of the climate disaster. As already announced, currently 85 people have lost their lives due to the heavy rains that hit the cities of Rio Grande do Sul and more than 100 residents are missing. The unprecedented tragedy has moved the Brazilian people, who have demanded from their “idols”, positions in the midst of a serious situation.
This Monday (6), influencer Carlinhos Maia took to his social networks to speak out after some fans asked him to cancel his reality show, “Racho Maia”, as a form of solidarity with the victims of the rains in Rio Grande do Sul. South. Showing impatience with the requests, the digital content creator tore up the word about the charges.
In his Instagram stories, the businessman declared that it is up to the government to help the population of Rio Grande do Sul and that internet users should direct criticism and demands towards these authorities. Carlinhos Maia also reaffirmed that he will use his voice to raise donations for the people of Rio Grande do Sul, but that He will not stop “working” because of the tragedy.
“For me and the 500 direct families who are working on all of this here [o reality show] and work. So, understand once and for all that you must hold the government accountable! We do what we want to do, because we have humanity”shouted the digital influencer in his Instagram stories.
Carlinhos Maia continued with his “sincere” chat with fans: “For you to want us to do something, you don’t have to destroy what we do, our livelihood. Imagine if every bad thing that happened in a part of Brazil we stopped our work, stopped what makes people money. Do you know how many employees I have? Many! Then am I going to stop and suffer for something?”, argued. “I prefer to be doing my job and have money to help,” continued declaring Carlinhos Maia.
