‘Bridgerton’ actress reveals that she ‘relaxed’ naked next to her co-star after sex scenes: ‘Relieved’ | Series

Nicola Coughlan, star of ‘Bridgerton’, reflected on the steamy moments she had to film for the third season of the series. And there were plenty of sex scenes, as the new episodes of the production should focus on the romantic relationship between her character, Penelope Featherington, and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).

The actress herself has already announced that fans will be faced with a season that is spicier than the previous ones. Coughlan even admitted to being affected by nervousness before filming, but her friendship with Newton helped her feel more comfortable.

The comfort between the colleagues was so great that, according to the celebrity, they didn’t even worry about being naked between one scene and another and used to relax side by side.

“There is a vulnerability in these scenes and that is very important to the story — they are an important part of the narrative,” Coughlan said in February during an interview with the AP. “But Luke made me feel so supported. We looked out for each other and could laugh about it. It got to the point where we lay under the covers and said, ‘Let’s really relax now.'”

“Yes, halfway through the day I would just relax and think, ‘I don’t even care that I’m naked’. We had a lot of fun. They would ask if we wanted to get up, and we would say, ‘No, it’s okay. I’m comfortable,'” she added.

The actress confirmed her sense of intimacy with Newton in a new interview shared by several international outlets, such as the Daily Mail, this Wednesday (24).

“Yes, this is real. It was very funny. It’s proof that we were very comfortable together. When we finished a big sex scene, the most intense of all… we just felt relieved,” the star said.

She added that, logistically, it made sense not to get fully dressed during breaks to make it easier to return to work.

Coughlan and Luke already knew each other when they started working together. In Newton’s view, this also served to facilitate the creation of intimacy between the characters.

“I’ve filmed romantic scenes with Nicola and with people I met on the same day. Many think it’s better not to meet the person beforehand, but I think a solid friendship with someone you trust makes everything easier,” the actor argued. “We could support each other with whatever we needed on set, as well as being able to laugh.”

Recently, Nicola Coughlan revealed that she had demanded a “censored” version of the series to show her own family, made up of Irish Catholics.

“It’s literally written in my contract [o pedido da versão editada sem sexo]. People think I’m saying this as a joke. None of that. We grew up Irish Catholic. That’s not our vibe,” said the 37-year-old actress, in an interview with SiriusXM Hits 1 radio.
