Once again demonstrating commitment to the health of the population and those benefiting from social projects, the City of Boa Vista promoted this Thursday, 2, the action “Health and Vaccination” with members of the Cabelos de Prata Program of the Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS) Cristiana Vicente Nunes, in partnership with the Basic Health Unit (UBS) Centenário.
Since April 27th, the action has involved seven CRAS, namely: Cauamé, Cristiana Vicente Nunes, Nova Cidade, Pintolândia, São Francisco, Silvio Leite and União. In partnership with neighboring UBS, the centers themselves host the activity, where Vaccinations against hepatitis B, dT, MMR, covid-19 and yellow fever are offered. In addition, the event includes a moment of guidance and lectures on the importance of vaccination.
Mr. Edmilson Reis, 68 years old, joined Cabelos de Prata 8 years ago and took advantage of the action to update his vaccination card. “This facility is really good. Sometimes we ‘stall’ to go to a UBS. So they come to us, which makes our lives a lot easier”, shared the elderly man, who left there immunized.
SILVER HAIR – Created in 2001, the project aims to transform old age into a pleasurable experience, providing quality of life for the elderly. Currently, it has more than a thousand members aged 60 and over.
Dona Maria José Ribeiro, 74 years old, better known as Mazé, is one of the most participative members. She has been in the program for 5 years. “I was feeling very alone. I’ve only been living for a few years and just staying at home wasn’t helping. As soon as I joined the program it was like light for me. I came out of depression because of the project. I get along well with everyone, my friends, teachers and assistants. Silver hair for me is everything. Everything it provides makes it easier for us,” she said.
