On March 27th, from 9am to 12pm, in room 40 at Cesteh, the Information and Communication Network on the exposure of workers to SARS-CoV-2 in Brazil (Rede Trabalhadores & Covid-19), a project by Center for the Study of Occupational Health and Human Ecology at the Sergio Arouca School of Public Health (Cesteh/Ensp/Fiocruz), will hold the event “Workers victims of Covid-19: memories, justice and reparation” in reference to March 12th, National Day in Honor of the Victims of Covid-19. In 2020, Brazil recorded, on this date, the first death from the new coronavirus. Since then, more than 710,000 people have died as a result of Covid-19, including many while carrying out their work.

To remember and honor the struggle of these workers who lost their lives performing their role, the Network carries out this tribute with the participation of trade unions, social movements and public representatives. The opening table will be composed of the coordinator of the Rede Trabalhadores & Covid-19 and deputy research coordinator of the Center for Studies on Occupational Health and Human Ecology (Cesteh/Ensp/Fiocruz), Liliane Teixeira, the coordinator of the Center for Health Studies of Workers and Human Ecology (Cesteh/Ensp/Fiocruz) and coordinator of the Workers and Covid-19 Network, Rita Mattos, the vice-president of Environment Care and Health Promotion (VPAAPS/Fiocruz), Hermano Castro and the vice-director of outpatient clinic and laboratory (VDAL) of the National School of Public Health (Ensp/Fiocruz), Fátima Rocha.

The activity includes union representatives and professionals from different areas. Check the schedule and guests on the banner and the QR Code to access the online broadcast. Click here to follow the broadcast via Zoom.
