From 2020 to 2024, Brazil has 38,694,221 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (data from the Ministry of Health). The impacts on cognitive functions in individuals recovered from Covid-19 have been the subject of increasing study and concern. Research indicates that many patients experience persistent neurological symptoms after recovering from the illness, including difficulties concentrating, memory problems and cognitive lapses. These effects can range from mild to severe and can persist for weeks or even months after the acute infection.

The Heart Institute of the FMUSP Hospital das Clínicas (InCor) is recruiting volunteers of both sexes, aged between 8 and 88 years, who have recovered from covid-19, to participate in a study that will analyze the impact of the virus on functions cognitive. The study will use the MentalPlus® game, a platform that identifies changes in memory, attention, language and executive function. However, participation is restricted to people without severe cognitive impairment that could interfere with understanding the rules of the game, in addition to those with limited mobility in the upper limbs and hands, and with low visual acuity for the stimuli offered by the game.

Interested volunteers must reside in the Capital or Greater São Paulo, or have easy access to InCor to participate in the study in person. To register, you must contact lssv?usp?br; livia?valentin?hc?fm?usp?br .

All InCor research procedures follow strict protocols of good practice in clinical studies, approved by Cappesq (Ethics Committee for Analysis of Research Projects of the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of USP) and by Conep (National Health Council / Ministry of Health).

InCor’s initiative aligns with goal number 3 of the UN Agenda’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), health and well-being.
