Doja Cat surprised fashionistas on duty by appearing in a wet effect dress on the red carpet of the Met Gala 2024, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York, on Monday night (06.05). With the dress soaked and slightly transparent, the rapper posed for photographers and focused the flashes. The singer’s makeup, with black eyeshadow running down her face, also caught attention.
In an interview with the AND!she shared details about the production: “I knew that people would choose flowers, but the flower I chose is the most used of all: cotton. I wanted to come with a white blouse because it is timeless and also very poetic. I knew that with this look, I wouldn’t disappear among people and I really don’t like being one more, so I chose this outfit.”
The singer also let it slip how the effect that left the look “wet” was achieved. “I’m really all wet right now. I shouldn’t give away the secret, but it’s hair gel. This is hair gel and I’m all slippery right now,” she joked.
The reporter even asked her if she intended to change her clothes to enjoy the party. “No. Absolutely not. I’m committed to this look. This is a performance. I’m literally going to sit in a chair the entire event in my wet clothes.”
