The most glamorous night in the fashion world is in the air! This Monday (6), the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York, hosts the traditional “MET Gala” ball. The spotlight returned once again to the museum’s steps and its lively red carpet, with the promise of many breathtaking looks! The ball is a benefit event that raises funds for the MET’s Costume Institute, a department of the museum focused on art and costume design.
As usual, some personalities are chosen to host the big night. This year, those chosen were: Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Zendaya and Jennifer Lopez. In addition, of course, to fashion editor Anna Wintour – who has presided over the event since 1995. According to British Vogue, they contribute to choices regarding the guest list, food, decoration and the entire aura of the occasion. Furthermore, everyone usually speaks at the dinner that takes place internally.
The theme of this edition is “Sleeping Beauties: The Awakening of Fashion”. Already the dress code is always related to the exhibition and has been named the “Garden of Time”, inspired by a short story of the same name by JG Ballard, published in 1962. Although Vogue states that the dress code can be interpreted in many ways, they hope that “lots of floral and botanical looks” take over. You blinked and celebrities are already walking down the iconic red carpet!
