Gabriela Duarte used social media to share a criticism of Globo, which left Regina Duarte out of Tributo – Manoel Carlos. The veteran, who has already given life to several protagonists of the author’s novels, was not called to record her statement and participate in the tribute.
In Stories on her Instagram profile, the celebrity reposted a complaint made by journalist Jeff Benício, from the Terra portal, involving the absence of her mother in the production dedicated to the writer. According to the text, the Rio broadcaster was treating the former employee with contempt.

“If you follow me here, did you watch the Tribute to Manoel Carlos? It’s wonderful!!! But…”, wrote Gabriela Duarte, before sharing the review. “Always claiming to be autonomous and impartial, Globo needs to place itself above the sordid culture of cancellation. Globo seems to act with contempt for the actress who helped its dramaturgy become unbeatable in the country and one of the best on the planet”, began the text.
The communicator continued: “It also gives rise to the impression of hostility generated between extremes of the political spectrum. This (poorly) disguised erasure of the artist causes unnecessary noise that affects the image of the broadcaster.”

Journalist says Globo disrespected Regina Duarte
Still in the review he wrote about Globo, Jeff Benício said that Globo disrespected Regina Duarte: “The channel was not obliged to invite her to record an unprecedented statement (it also did not invite Vera Fischer, another spectacular Helena), however, such an attitude constitutes disrespect for the actress, for the history that she and TV built together, for the celebrated author and for the public of the soap operas”.

The text also suggests that the veteran’s ideological activism cannot overcome her contribution to Brazilian dramaturgy. The artist’s relationship with the Rio broadcaster has been shaken since she took a position in the government of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), of which she is a supporter.
Regina Duarte played Helena three times in Manoel Carlos’ soap operas, in História de Amor (1995), Por Amor (1997) and Páginas da Vida (2006).
