After being incommunicado for three days and friends and relatives alerting the authorities of the Rio Grande do Sul about his disappearance, Natalia Anderle, Miss Brazil 2008, he is well. The model, 37 years old and 7 months pregnant, who was counted among those missing due to the storms that hit the state, took to social media to reassure everyone. The former Miss, who now lives in the United States, is in Brazil to visit her family in Roca Sales, around 150 kilometers from Porto Alegre, and to have the baby in her hometown. The municipality is one of the most affected by the rains of recent days.
After the news of her disappearance caused great commotion, Natália made a post on Instagram stating that she is safe and well: “Thank you to all concerned friends, now it is time to gather in prayer for all those affected.” She also said that there is no electricity or cell phone signal in the place where she was.
The former Miss traveled to Roca Sales without her husband, American Eric Thornton, who stayed in the United States. Her last post on social media was on April 30, in which she reported the disappearance of her brother’s dog on a rural property in the municipality, due to flooding. Afterwards, she didn’t show any signs of life for three days.
Roca Sales, in the Taquiri Valley, in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, is one of the regions severely hit by storms. On the night of this Friday, the 3rd, Mayor Amilton Fontana (MDB, said that “around 15 people were buried” in the locality. Local Civil Defense relief teams are working in the region in search of those missing in the region.

A friend of the former Miss, Bruna Felisberto reported this Saturday morning that Natália and her family tried to leave the city after the waters invaded the house where they were staying. “The bridge, I think it was flooded or had been destroyed, it was closed, they couldn’t leave the city. They returned to the farm, which was flooded and the animals had even died. They were isolated on the second floor,” she explained. Bruna had also said that the municipality where her friend went was in a very difficult situation, completely destroyed. “Buried houses, collapses. The farm is close to one of the river banks, a place that floods a lot. We are trying to rescue by boat and helicopter, but no one can contact anyone,” she added.
Of humble origins, Natália is the daughter of farmers. Before being elected Miss Brazil 2008, she lived with her family in Encantado, a city neighboring Roca Sales, which is also in Vale do Taquari, one of the regions most affected by the storms. Upon winning the competition, the model, who worked as a maid and in a beauty clinic, invested together with her brother in businesses in the construction and agricultural sectors.
