One of the most anticipated films of the year had its first teaser released this Thursday (2). The first images of ‘O Auto da Compadecida 2’, by director Guel Arraes, bring the expected reunion between Chicó (Selton Mello) and João Grilo
(Matthew Nachtergaele) 20 years after the first film and reveals new characters and new adventures of this pair of friends who became popular with Brazilian moviegoers.
The production by H2O Films and Conspiração will debut on a more than special day, Christmas: December 25, 2024.
According to the promotional material, in the sequel João Grilo and Chicó meet again after two decades in the mythical city of Taperoá. Together, they embark on new adventures, while the plot is driven by their friendship. Virginia Cavendish returns as Rosinha and Enrique Diaz as Joaquim
Brejeiro, and some of the new characters that move the story forward are played by Taís
Araújo (Compadecida), Humberto Martins (Coronel Ernani), Luis Miranda (Antônio do Amor), Eduardo Sterblitch (Arlindo) and Fabiula Nascimento (Clarabela).
The original script is by Guel and João Falcão, with collaboration from Adriana Falcão and Jorge Furtado.
