Samara Mapoua’s boyfriend, identified only as Vulgo 2d on social media, decided to speak out on Instagram, in the early hours of this Thursday (28/3), after the influencer was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm on Avenida Brasil, height da Penha, north of Rio de Janeiro.
Through stories, the boy shared a video of moments he spent with her: “I love you until the end of the world”, he wrote in the caption.
He then decided to speak openly about the accusations: “I would like to clarify that, unfortunately, for legal reasons, we cannot say anything about the injustice of the system. What we can do is demonstrate what we feel and put faith, hope and love because only Justice can do the rest, no one else”, he guaranteed.

Who is Samara Mapoua
The news that influencer Samara Mapoua was arrested in the act for carrying a weapon, last Tuesday (26/3), on Avenida Brasil, near Penha, north of Rio, hit social networks and the media this year. Thursday (28/3). But a lot of people have no idea who she is.
And the column tells you, now, dear reader. Born and raised in Rocinha, south of the city, Samara’s given name is Yago Jesus dos Santos. She made waves on social media when she had some “arguments” with her mother, who refused to call her by her social name. One of her best-known catchphrases is “I’m a girl, my name is Samara”.
Her virtual success began at the age of 27, when she decided to imitate Dona Hermínia, actor Paulo Gustavo’s iconic character. On that occasion, she put on a wig with curlers on her head and used humor to record.
But fame came a little later, when Samara and her mother, known as Drika Mapoona, began to have “clashes” in front of the cameras. While the influencer stated that she “was a girl and had p*ssy”, the matriarch shouted that she “was a boy and had p*ru”.
In an interview with the website Fala Roça, in May 2021, Drika told what filming was like: “Everything is recorded without planning. Next thing you know, I was already on the recording cursing, fighting to wash the dishes,” she detailed.
The previous year, Samara ventured into the world of music and released Sou Mulher, Mãe, in partnership with DJ Batata, who managed Jojo Todynho for a long time. Soon after, she signed a contract with Universal Music.
News of the arrest
“I’m a girl, my name is Samara.” Anyone who has been on social media for a while may be familiar with Samara Mapoua’s catchphrase, which took social media by storm when she had some “arguments” with her mother, who insisted on calling her by her given name, Yago, and stating that she was a boy. But the success story with videos ended in a chain.
That’s right, dear reader, Samara Mapoua was arrested in the act, last Tuesday (26/3), on Avenida Brasil, near Penha. According to the Civil Police, the influencer was accompanied by five friends in a car when everything happened.
The police report, to which the column had access, reported that the agents were suspicious of the vehicle where the six people were. After approaching and searching the vehicle, the police found a 380 caliber Taurus pistol with a scratched number, 12 intact rounds of ammunition and 6 cell phones. The material was hidden under the passenger seat.
In a statement at the 22nd DP (Penha), Samara Mapoua admitted that she was the owner of the weapon and reported that she was receiving threats and, therefore, decided to buy the revolver to protect herself.
The influencer was arrested in the act and at the custody hearing the judge ordered that the arrest be converted to preventive. Magistrate Diego Fernandes Silva Santos sent Samara to a women’s prison until the investigation was completed.
After the news of the arrest, the stories on Samara’s Instagram profile, which has more than 1.2 million followers, were filled with old recordings and advertisements for games.
The influencer began her career in the virtual world in Rocinha and, according to Bom Dia Rio, on TV Globo, she recently bought a mansion in Campo Grande.
