CPFL Energia (CPFE3) reported a net profit of R$1.755 billion in the first quarter of this year, marking an increase of 6.3% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the period reached R$3.865 billion, representing an increase of 9.5% compared to the previous year.
CPFL’s net operating revenue in the first quarter of 2024 totaled R$10.166 billion, registering an increase of 3.3% compared to the same period in 2023.
CPFL’s positive results were mainly driven by the distribution segment, which contributes 65% of the company’s EBITDA and experienced strong growth in energy consumption, attributed to high temperatures. The Ebitda of this segment totaled R$2.53 billion, representing an increase of 9.5%.

According to CPFL’s balance sheet, the load in the concession area, net of losses, increased 5.1% in the period, reaching 19,419 gigawatt-hours (GWh). Furthermore, the market recorded an increase in energy sales volume of 5.3% compared to the same period in 2023, with emphasis on the residential (up 11.4%) and commercial (up 10.0%) segments. %). Meanwhile, the industry showed an increase of 2.2%, indicating signs of recovery.
