Lamborghini announces the launch of the Urus SE, a plug-in hybrid version of one of the fastest SUVs in the world, during the Beijing Motor Show (China). In addition to the electric motors and battery pack, the sports car also debuts a new design and new equipment.

Starting with the big news, the Lamborghini Urus it maintains the 4.0 V8 gasoline engine that develops 620 hp and 80 kgfm of torque. This engine now has the help of an all-electric unit powered by a battery. 25.9 kWhproviding 192 hp and 48 kgfm.

The synchronous electric motor was installed in the eight-speed automated transmission and acts to increase power and torque during acceleration. Total power and torque reach 800 hp It is 95 kgfmaccording to Lamborghini, providing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.4 seconds. The traction is permanent all-wheel drive.

The superlative numbers don’t stop. The Urus SE can reach 200 km/h in 11.2s, while its non-electrified variant reaches the same mark in 12.5 s. Above all, its maximum speed is 312 km/hwith an increase of 7 km/h over the S version. These results make the Urus SE the fastest SUV in the world in its segment.

Its hybrid package also allows the Urus to travel up to 60 km without wasting a single drop of fuel, at speeds of up to 130 km/h. The recharging time has not yet been released, but the Italian SUV has driving modes aimed at regeneration.

Disclosure

Another new feature is the electro-hydraulic torque vectoring system, which distributes force in a variable and continuous manner between the front and rear axles. Electronic differential control allows the rear wheels to rotate not only to increase performance, but also to improve maneuverability in tight spaces.

Regarding driving modes, the Urus SE it has a total of ten combinations: Strada, Sport and Corsa (for use on tracks); Neve, Sabbia and Terra (for off-road); and EV Drive, Hybrid, Performance and Recharge (for electric use). Driving modes also change the suspension height, with a lower arrangement in track conditions and a higher arrangement for tackling trails or rough terrain.
