The photographer from Tocantins, Glauber Matos was awarded by the International Inspiration Photographer Association in the Best Portrait Collection category with the essay “The Gordo”. Developed in collaboration with gastronomic influencer Pedro “The Gordo”, the project aims to highlight the beauty and uniqueness of the foods that make up the table, emphasizing the role of the chef, represented by Pedro, as the artist who extracts the best from each ingredient.
The inspiration behind the shoot came from the desire to create strong and imposing portraits for the digital influencer. “The idea was to create an essay that could cover as many areas of gastronomy as possible, involving products that make up our table. Pre-production was quite complicated as it involved many products that were purchased by Pedro through his suppliers. The rehearsal itself was a big challenge, we started at 4pm and finished around 1am. There were many themes, which always involved visual production to highlight each product and present it in a creative way”, shared the photographer.
Inspiration Photographer is an international association that brings together the best photographers in the world. Glauber Matos had already achieved recognition in this scenario, having come second in the Golden Leans Awards in 2022, an honor considered the “Oscar of Photography”. In the same association, the photographer has already had 11 photos and 3 award-winning essays.
“This award is of great importance for my career, as it shows us that we have the creative capacity to compete with Brazil and the world. I would like to thank everyone who participated in this project, Pedro The Gordo together with his wife Karol, Junior and Dhébora Bruch’s Ative agency and Patrick Ramon. Without them this project would not have been carried out and through their work and competence we were able to obtain this title”, concluded Glauber.
