G20

The G20 brings together the countries with the largest economies in the world. Member States meet annually to discuss economic, political and social initiatives and it is defined as the main forum for international economic cooperation. This is the first time that Brazil has assumed the presidency of the group.

For this year, with the theme “Building a fair world and a sustainable planet”, President Lula announced three general priorities for Brazil’s presidency at the Summit: combating hunger, poverty and inequality; the three dimensions of sustainable development (economic, social and environmental); and international governance reform.
