A 45-year-old widowed man surprised everyone by marrying his late wife’s mother, in the Bihar region of India, and the curious thing is that it was his rejected father-in-law himself who organized the ceremony.

This episode, as incredible as it may seem, is true. The incident occurred last week, in the village of Heer Moti, India. According to reports in the Times of India, Sikandar Yadav went to live with his in-laws after losing his wife about a year ago.

Over time, Sikandar developed a very close relationship with his mother-in-law, Geeta Devi, 55, and they ended up becoming romantically involved.

The father-in-law, Dileshawar Darve, 55, discovered the case and reported them to local community authorities.

In a meeting with the leaders of Heer Moti village, Sikandar confessed that he was in love with Geeta. After deliberation, the community leaders, with Dileshawar’s consent, decided that Geeta would divorce her husband to marry her son-in-law.
