The blades of the windmill of the famous Parisian cabaret Moulin Rouge collapsed during the night, firefighters told AFP this Thursday, confirming information from the BFMTV channel.
The accident left no injuries and there is no risk of collapse in the structure of the property, according to firefighters.
“This is the first time that an accident like this has happened since the opening of the Moulin Rouge on October 6, 1889,” the company that owns the site told AFP.
The causes of the accident have not yet been determined.
“Fortunately, it happened after closing,” a Moulin Rouge employee, who requested anonymity, told AFP.
“Every week, the cabaret’s technical teams review the mill mechanism and have not found any problems,” he added.
The Moulin Rouge, one of the French capital’s greatest tourist attractions, is located on the edge of the Montmartre hill district, north of Paris.
