A 60-year-old Argentine woman won the Miss Universe edition of the province of Buenos Aires, on Sunday (21). Now, model Alejandra Rodríguez will enter the national competition. If she wins Miss Argentina, she will be able to represent the country in the international edition of Miss Universe.

“It was a very thoughtful decision, but, thanks to the director of Miss Universe Buenos Aires, I decided to register at the age of 60,” Alejandra Rodríguez told TN channel, this Tuesday (24).

To compete in the international Miss Universe, Alejandra needs to beat the other 27 finalists in the national stage of Miss Universe Argentina. The competition will take place on May 25th, in Buenos Aires.

Lawyer and journalist, the now model lives and works in the city of La Plata and was a debutant in the regional competition. This was the first time that the dispute took place without an age limit.

“I had never signed up. Now this opportunity arose and it seemed like a challenge, a very interesting proposal”, said Alejandra.

“Beauty is not just about the physical, it has to do with the attitude towards life, which goes beyond aesthetics. Therefore, I think the contest came to break these stereotypes, and that is what is giving it so much visibility. “
