Matteus from BBB 24 collects 5 tons of food and R$55 million in solidarity actions for RS

Former “BBB 24” participant, Matteus Amaral, continues his fundraising journey in favor of Rio Grande do Sul, his home state, affected by severe floods. Even far away – he went to Amazonas to meet Isabelle Nogueira after the reality show -, the ex-brother continues to help the state, which is facing a historic tragedy with serious floods.

At an event in the city of Parintins on Thursday (9/5), Matteus was honored and managed to raise more than five tons of food. On his official Instagram page, Matteus shared a video of the event, where he expressed his gratitude: “Thank you Parintins and {futsal player]Falcão for what you are doing for my people. In this incredible event, more than 5 tons of food were collected to help Rio Grande do Sul. God bless you all.”

Matteus’ post received great support on social media, with many users applauding the initiative. Isabelle, Matteus’s girlfriend, commented on the event. “HOW BEAUTIFUL! A lot of joy in my heart for you feeling a little of the warmth and welcome of my beloved Parintins. Your first time in Parintins and without me, but I always knew that my people would give everything and Parintins remains committed to helping the people from Rio Grande do Sul. Very proud”, she declared.

Furthermore, Matteus has already managed to raise more than R$55 million in a fundraiser he started with the help of other influencers. He published a video in his Stories showing that 30 trucks full of products were sent to the CTGs in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul.

Defense against criticism

Despite his fundraising success, Matteus faces criticism for being in Amazonas during the crisis in his state. He responded during an Instagram live broadcast on Wednesday (8/5), asking for understanding. “If it’s not going to help, then don’t get in the way. Don’t make nasty comments, put yourself in my shoes. I’m doing everything I can to help… All of Brazil is involved. The people of Amazonas, Pará, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you are doing for my state”, said Matteus, who also got many donations in Belém do Pará, home of Alane Dias – who is also involved, asking for donations.
