The producers of the series ‘Gen V’ decided not to replace the character played by actor Chance Perdomo (1996-2024) with another artist. The decision of those responsible for production was reported by the official ‘Gen V’ Instagram account.
Perdomo died on March 29, aged 27, after suffering a motorcycle accident near New York. In ‘Gen V’ he gave life to the character Andre Anderson. He was also remembered for his work on the series ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’.
The statement from the ‘Gen V’ producers said: “As we continue to come to grips with the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at ‘Gen V’ is determined to find the best way to respect his memory. We will not replace the role with another actor, because Chance is irreplaceable.”
The text comes to an end stating: “We chose to take time and space to rethink the stories of the second season before filming begins in May. Let’s honor Chance and his legacy this season.”
Filming for the second season of ‘Gen V’ was scheduled to begin on April 8, in the city of Toronto. Perdomo’s death postponed plans for May.
Perdomo was the only one involved in the motorcycle accident that resulted in his death. The international press reported that he was going from New York to Toronto precisely to begin his work on filming the second season of ‘Gen V’.
