All about Whatsapp

Testing other tones since February, WhatsApp has finally released its new interface to all iPhone users. As seen by Olhar Digital, the app is already updating the colors of notifications and some other buttons to green, following the platform’s visual identity.

What do you need to know:

  • The new feature was released to everyone with version 24.9.4 of the application on iOS;
  • The adjustment began to appear on Apple’s system in February — and in October 2023 for beta users;
  • The iOS system’s “green WhatsApp” changes the iPhone’s default blue tone;
  • The app also gained new icons and illustrations.

Not just iOS, Android also received updates to the app recently — and it didn’t please users at all. The version also gained a menu bar at the bottom of the screen on Android, similar to what we already see on iOS. Check it out here!

Although Meta has not yet commented on the change in WhatsApp’s color, it is likely that it will arrive to standardize the messenger’s appearance across all platforms — Android, iOS, PC and browser.

Among other new features expected for the iOS version of the app, there is also the arrival of access keys. The functionality, which will be available to all users in the coming weeks, offers an additional layer of protection against possible scams and unauthorized access.

To enable passkeys on WhatsApp for iOS, users can access the Account section within the app’s Settings and select the Passkeys option. This implementation aims to simplify the login process while improving overall security for WhatsApp users.
