Rumors surrounding what should come as a direct successor to the Nintendo Switch continue to circulate around the web and this time, the source of possible news comes from manufacturers of future accessories for the new hardware.

According to an article recently published by the Spanish portal Vandal, journalist Rubén Mercado gained access to privileged information about Nintendo’s new system during a fair where accessory manufacturers were present.

At this fair, Nintendo supposedly allowed companies to touch an opaque box so that the dimensions of the new system could be understood without compromising the confidentiality of its final design.

Nintendo’s new hardware would have dimensions larger than the current Switch, but without exceeding the size of the Steam Deck (Valve) according to the sources. Furthermore, it was also informed that Nintendo must use a magnetic coupling system for the new controls (Joy-Con?) — which could make physical compatibility with current Joy-Cons that use rails on the device difficult.

Finally, it was commented that the Pro Controller of the current Nintendo Switch would not face compatibility problems with the new system — which was expected given that its communication uses Bluetooth, which is also presumed to be present in the new hardware even so that enable remote communication with potential new Joy-Con.

Regarding the release date, the manufacturers corroborate the most recent rumors that the new Nintendo console should reach the global market during the early months of 2025.

RUMOR — Remember that the information described above is the result of speculation. Do not take or share them as fact.
