With a post on the PS Blog, Hello Games announced the arrival of a major update to No Man’s Sky. It’s called the Orbital Update, which adds ship customization tools, a new Guild system, redesign of space stations and much more.

“The Orbital update brings a complete overhaul to Space Stations. So far, they may have been the only part of No Man’s Sky that wasn’t procedurally generated. Improvements to the engine allowed us to create vast indoor and outdoor spaces, with improved reflections and metallic surfaces,” says Sean Murray, founder of the studio.

A ship editor allows players to customize their vehicles and even create never-before-seen types of transport. According to the executive, this is perhaps the most requested feature by the community in the game’s history.

“The Orbital update adds ship customization, transforms Space Stations inside and out, a new guild system, engine improvements, UI updates, and more. It’s a big update, with several features that have been on players’ wish lists for a long time. We have so much more planned for this year as our journey continues.”

More No Man’s Sky free periods could come in 2024

Having released No Man’s Sky: Omega with a free period apparently did good for Hello Games and the studio assured that it will do this again in the coming months in 2024. Check out more details here!
