How was the game

Flamengo started the game without connection between sectors. The team was unable to build plays to get the ball out, and started to explore some longer passes. Palestino, on the other hand, took advantage of the spaces left by the locals and had a good presence in attack. Rossi had to make a good save to prevent the home team from opening the scoring.

Change of position and posture. When Cebolinha started to fall more on the left and Bruno Henrique on the right, Flamengo started to respond better. Tite’s team started to be more frightening, but failed when it came to finishing the play — whether in the choice of pass or the precision of the shot. The home team felt a little and stayed back, looking for exits at speed.

Rubro-Negro came back from the break with another impetus. Tite’s men managed to show some improvement in their offensive advances, but the new scenario didn’t last long. Palestino opened the scoring with a shot of rare beauty from Cornejo and gave the duel a different atmosphere.

The Gávea team sought the reaction. Tite put Luiz Araújo and Gabigol on the field, and changed the formation a little. Fla had more of the ball, pressed and created opportunities — Luiz Araújo even hit the post — but Palestino held on as best he could. In the end, a Flamengo that went for “all or nothing” against a Palestinian who held the ball and “prevented” the game from happening.

Important bids

Was it hungry? In the 9th minute of the 1st half, the Palestino team faltered in releasing the ball, Pedro stole it and advanced. Cebolinha gave an option for a pass, but the number 9 cut, hit and sent it out.
