Textor’s lawyer praises STJD for not imposing suspension on North American

This is a change in the court’s stance. Textor has been denounced by the STJD since last year, but refused to present the alleged evidence since a Brasileirão match report produced by Good Game!, a French company that analyzes arbitration decisions, was ignored by the entity. The American’s intention, since then, is to show evidence only to the Common Justice.

And if he (Textor) has to collaborate with the Sports Court to make this happen, of course. From day 1 he asked for an investigation to be opened, which unfortunately was archived. So now I think the Sports Court was right to open an investigation, and we will also start investigating the manipulation within the Sports Court – said Michel Assef Filho, Textor’s lawyer.

– We had information that the procedure (inquiry) was initiated at the request of John Textor. It has been instituted, but we have not yet been summoned to present the evidence. This should happen at some point, but we haven’t been (called) yet – added the lawyer.

At the CPI, Textor also showed audios, videos and reports to senators. The news was due to an analysis of possible VAR editing – a complaint that what is shown to the public on the video referee review screen is not 100% faithful to what happened in the game. With the investigation, the North American now has another investigation underway.

– This is another argument from us. We have two ongoing investigations, both in the criminal environment – where statements will be given, obviously – and within the scope of the CPI, in the Federal Senate. It is obvious that this procedure must be respected. As necessary, this will be informed by the Sports Court. Present evidence that has already been presented in other environments and is confidential, if this must in fact be done within the scope of Sports Justice.
